A quiter barn stay - 4/5/2008 PDF Print E-mail

4/5/2008 - Good progress was made down a cave today by Ed, Ian, Martin and Pete. The previous weeks 'nudge' had again done a fantastic job! Numerous rocks were removed and another 'nudge' arranged before leaving...

Afterwards, Ed and Martin did the entrance series of Redhurst Swallet (to Sump 1) with the river flowing into it and found it exhilerating! Later, Ian, Martin and Pete spent the evening in the Black Lion at Butterton b4 retiring to the barn for more beer, music and chat until after 3am. Another good day/night.

Darfar / Dafar
You should be aware that Darfar (as in Darfar Bridge, Pot, etc.) is misspelt as Dafar on OS maps of a certain scale. On larger scaled (more detailed) maps it is correct as you can see on the excellent Magic web site. This map shows the correct spelling and this one the incorrect spelling. (Then of course there's Darfur, which is a place in Africa...)
