Hitch n Hike 2008 rope competition PDF Print E-mail

Yes, they are running another comp this year. But given the crap weather we've had and the fact that (from the HnH web site), "S.U.S.S. members with a bit of help from the C.D.G. have discovered around 88m of new cave after digging through the mud sump at the top of Donatella's Aven in Far Sump Extension in Peak Cavern", we're not in the running unless we hit lucky! Martin.

Yodel-oo-hey-hooooo!!
Well if anyone else is free from chasing ladies this sun then I'm back from yodelling in switzerland to dig a few more metres of cave out to give the boys from SUSS a run for their rope. They won't get it that easy!

Darfar / Dafar
You should be aware that Darfar (as in Darfar Bridge, Pot, etc.) is misspelt as Dafar on OS maps of a certain scale. On larger scaled (more detailed) maps it is correct as you can see on the excellent Magic web site. This map shows the correct spelling and this one the incorrect spelling. (Then of course there's Darfur, which is a place in Africa...)
