Slap my Ledderhosen! PDF Print E-mail

After two weeks of looking at rock formations of over ten thousand feet it's back to reality - but at least the more accessible peaks of  nearly one thousand feet.

Pete, " Wow look at those caves up on that ridge! It would be great to  explore those"

Karen, "Yes, but how are you going to get there without a helicopter?"

Pete, "Yes, I suppose if the beer is over £3.50 a half then I don't suppose the helicopter is cheap"

Karen, "Then, if you want to stay here you'll have to take up dancing in leather shorts ( oh, I don't know!) & learn to yodel."

Pete, "Well slap my ledderhosen!, Yodell-oo-hey-hoo!"

Karen, "Oh no, I wonder where the Olympic torch is?"

Darfar / Dafar
You should be aware that Darfar (as in Darfar Bridge, Pot, etc.) is misspelt as Dafar on OS maps of a certain scale. On larger scaled (more detailed) maps it is correct as you can see on the excellent Magic web site. This map shows the correct spelling and this one the incorrect spelling. (Then of course there's Darfur, which is a place in Africa...)
